There is no such magician as Alex Ferguson.
There are no such players as there used to be. From these two premises, it is easy to conclude that Manchester United is not what it used to be. This United, currently in 8th place in the Premier League and 31 points less than the first-placed Manchester City, will not even look like the United that the fans should watch next season. Everything is ready for big changes at Old Trafford!
Manchester United Anthony Martial, Raphael Varane, Brandon Williams, Jadon Sancho, Anthony, Mason Greenwood, Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Donny van de Beek, and Casemiro could leave the “Theater of Dreams”.
If a suitable offer arrives and the player expresses his intention to leave, there would be no problem even when it comes to Marcus Rashford. The club will consider offers for all players, but three are “untouchable.” Their eventual sale is out of the question. In question are Mainoo (19), Rasmus Hojlund (21) and Alejandro Garnacho (19), who are considered to represent the future of Manchester. The “Red Devils” intends to hire a stopper, a central midfielder, and a striker in the summer transfer window.Â
It remains to be seen whether Jim Ratcliffe, the owner who has taken over the club’s management, will keep the coach Erik Ten Haag in the plans.Â
The Dutchman’s contract expires in June 2025, but there seems little chance of him staying. After his arrival, many thought he was the right solution, and he had solid results after the first season, but in the new season, he experienced a total debacle. The “Red Devils” are only 8th in the table, and at the moment, it is not known what is worse, the attack or the defense.
On defense, United conceded as many as 84 goals this season, the most since the 1976/77 season.
Also, for the first time since England’s top division was called the Premier League (1992), United recorded 13 defeats in a season. United has a chance to improve their impression at least a little in the final of the FA Cup, where their rival on May 25 will be Manchester City.Â
History remembers that 10 years ago, under the leadership of David Moyes, the club finished the season in seventh place with 64 points, and this season the Manchester players will be even more unsuccessful. Namely, United is currently in the eighth position with 60 points won, and since there is only one round left to play until the end of the Premier League, it is clear that even that negative record will be broken.
Someone misled us that Erik ten Haag and Manchester United could work.
Some persuaded footballers with influential careers to move to Old Trafford, or those yet to make a big career—athletically and humanly. Sometimes, it is not only up to them that they would look better in another environment, but the toxic environment in which Manchester United has been living for a decade would eat up big talents and stars. Of course, it’s not only up to Ten Haag; the responsibility is also on the players.Â
If you’ve never watched a football match, John Evans’ game must have dissuaded you from coming to the stands again, but he’s 36 years old, and at least he knows how it used to be in United.Â
Just like Casemiro knows what it’s like to be the champion of Spain and Europe, but when you put the Brazilian in the middle where no one knows what to do, it turns out he doesn’t know either, which he showed recently. Eriksen is a skilled technician and a great connoisseur. He used to be.
What will we do with those who come and think they are aces? Andre Onana? Antonio? Diogo Dalot? In some matches, Antoni looked as if he had tricked the entire planet into knowing how to play the ball. Circus!
At Old Trafford, they hope for almost nothing.Â
They enter each subsequent season with minimal ambitions, aware that otherwise they could only be disappointed.
