Mbappe in Real Madrid, what should fans expect?

As it was known even last summer, Kylian Mbappe’s destiny was and remains Real Madrid.

Last year, only the pressure of French President Emmanuel Macron prevailed to postpone the transfer to Madrid, which had already been agreed upon. Macron played the card of patriotism, not only because of football issues but especially because of the interests of the French state. Qatar has a deep business and financial interest in the French.

When there was a “request” from the local environment for the president to join in preventing the departure of the most powerful player in the world to Real, it was clear that Mbappe and his parents could not resist.

Florentino Perez, a vital 76-year-old who overcame too much in business, politics, and sports, understood this, too.

He left the door open for Mbappe and also concluded that he would save around 200 million euros that Real would have to pay to PSG. Such an approach proved to be a complete hit for Perez. The team convincingly won the title of champion of Spain, and they won the 15th title in the Champions League.

The fact that Mbappe will arrive in a team that is the champion of the country and Europe is an important framework for his glamorous entrance to the Real world.

Real will make the presentation of the French great into a world spectacle and will already pay handsomely for it, both materially and in terms of image. However, some in the club and media circles close to Real fear that Mbappe’s arrival will burden the atmosphere in the dressing room and disrupt the chemistry inside the team.

It is very compact, a group of experienced and younger players playing and living in great harmony and, most importantly, are competitively successful.

He plays fantastic football; the statistics in Paris SG say it all.

In 307 appearances, he scored 256 goals with 108 assists.

Before that, in 60 games for Monaco, he contributed to the championship title with 27 goals and 16 assists. In eight senior seasons, Mbappe won 7 championships, 3 Cups, 2 League Cups, and 3 Super Cups—always within France!

His playing power was only confirmed through the national team, with which he won the title of world champion in 2018. In the final (with a goal) against Croatia, he also had one final with a hat-trick and defeat on penalties (with Argentina) in Qatar 2022.

He also won the League of Nations.

Based on his unique playing value, Mbappe has not achieved a European club breakthrough (Champions League) or more prestigious trophies outside of France, including the most important individual award he does not yet have—the Ballon d’Or.

With his sensational potential, Kylian Mbappe will contribute to Real having an “outrageously” powerful offensive arsenal.

What will certainly be a big challenge for Carlo Ancelotti is ensuring balance between the lines.

Real realized what so many stars meant on the field, even in the first galactic era. Vicente del Bosque, who managed Perez’s first Galacticos at the beginning of the millennium, faced problems when he couldn’t give them all a chance, and Carlo Ancelotti could have similar problems from the summer.

In addition, Mbappe, Vinicius, Rodrygo, Bellingham, Brahim, Güler (possibly Joselu), and the new Brazilian wunderkind Endrick are in the dressing room.

The coach will have a headache combining such stars, ensuring that they have enough games so that there is no grumbling about their status, and maintaining a tactical balance between the defensive and offensive lines.
